LFPC announces the upcoming retirement of Dr. Ishmael, who has served the Litchfield community with compassion and commitment since joining the practice in 2000. His last day in the office will be September 12, 2025.
Dr. Ishmael is retiring to spend more time with his family and will be moving closer to his grandchildren. While his presence will be deeply missed, we are excited for him as he begins this new chapter.
To ensure a smooth transition, Dr. Meagan Nowlan will be moving into Dr. Ishmael’s corner of the office and will work alongside his dedicated nurses, nurse practitioner Morgan, and physician assistant, Mindy, to provide continuity and exceptional care.

Our Practice
Litchfield Family Practice Center provides medical care for patients at all ages and stages in their lives. Our board certified Physicians, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners promote wellness, prevention, and education for all patients and their families. Our providers not only provide routine medical care, but also diagnose and treat acute and complex illnesses or injuries.
Litchfield Family Practice Center has been providing local care to patients since 1978. Our active patient load is approximately 20,000 and it is not unusual for our providers to see over 300 patients on a daily basis. We have thirty-two exam rooms to accommodate the large pace of patients that we see daily. A national reference laboratory (LabCorp, Inc.) maintains two phlebotomists in the building full-time to draw and process specimens, which are sent daily to the laboratory’s headquarters.

Litchfield Family Practice Center employs approximately 100 people, including both clinical staff and administrative staff, that processes all billing and insurance claims, internally. We are in-network providers for many major insurance companies (see Insurance page). We are a Rural Health Clinic and provide care for Medicare and Illinois Medicaid patients. We also provide care for worker's compensation claims and company physicals for local businesses.
